Talking in sleep, which is also known as somniloquy is the condition where a person tends to talk while sleeping. It is not considered to be a medical issue but is a common behavior amongst people. Night terrors or sleep terrors usually lead to frightening screams, kicking or thrashing. Sometimes night terrors get so intense that it becomes difficult to wake the person up from his sleep. Children who experience such terrors tend to talk and walk in their sleep as well.
Here, sleepwalking can also be considered as one of the causes of sleep talking. Other factors like emotional stress, mental disorder, medications, etc. are also some causes of sleep talking.

One such way is to get enough of proper and uninterrupted sleep regularly. Lack of sleep disturbs the overall functions of the body. Also, it is advisable to keep yourself away from tension or stress.

Experts recommend maintaining a diary wherein the patients need to note down things like the time of going to bed and waking up, the dose of medications (if any), the amount of caffeine intake, the time and kind of exercises, etc.
